採点が終わったら：どの型で落としたかを見る

点数より「どの大問を落としたか」が大事です。落とした大問を下の表で引くと、原因と対策がわかります。

落とした大問原因対策
1比較級・最上級のつづり基本は+er／+est。e で終わる語は+r／+st（large→larger）。〈短母音＋子音字1つ〉は最後の文字を重ねる（big→bigger）。〈子音字＋y〉は y を i に（easy→easier）。長い語は more／most、good・well は better／best。
2than・the・of／in の使い分け比較級のあとは than、最上級には the をつける。of のあとは数や all・仲間を表す複数（of the three）、in のあとは場所や集団（in my class・in Japan）。
3書きかえで意味が逆になる主語を入れかえたら反対の意味の語にする（older↔younger、heavier↔lighter）。not as ～ as は「～ほど…ない」＝相手のほうが～er。
4疑問文・表現の形2つのうち「どちらが」は Which is ～er[more ～], A or B?、「いちばん好き」は like ～ the best、「同じくらい」は as＋もとの形＋as。
5語順が作れない〈主語＋be動詞＋比較級＋than ～〉〈the most＋形容詞＋名詞〉〈not as＋もとの形＋as〉〈Which do you like better, A or B?〉の型に当てはめる。
6日本語からの組み立て「～より」は比較級＋than、「いちばん」は the＋最上級＋of／in、「同じくらい」は as＋もとの形＋as。まず型を選んでから形容詞の形を決める。

80点未満だったときの、やり直し順

  1. 大問1で比較級・最上級のつづりと good→better→best を固める
  2. 大問2で than／the／of・in の使い分けを確認する
  3. 大問3・4で as ～ as や Which ～? などの型を反復する
